It’s November. The summer has finally ended here, and I’m back on track.
After sorting out my outline for Synthesis, I decided to rework one of the storylines rather thoroughly. Some of my earlier work can be salvaged, so it’s not quite as bad. Then, it’s just act 3 to write, before the long and tedious process of editing can start.
The novel is currently “only” 77000 words long, I estimate it to land at about 90-100k in the end. I chose the start of NaNoWriMo as date to get writing again. This worked very well for me last year, I wrote part of Emergent during that time (then put it on ice to start on Pendulum). Emergent turned out to be a story I’m very happy with. Apparently, some amount of pressure is good for my productivity.
So far, things are going well. I did my first update and will dictate another scene while taking a bath, so I can get it in tomorrow. There are no more question marks in my outline, and I’m looking forward to getting this done.
My wife and I are also vaccinated now, and normality seems to return to everybody’s life. Which is great, I’m a bit sick of all the craziness of 2020/21.
