I finished NaNoWriMo 2021 pretty early, and not because I’m such an amazing writing machine, but because I was well-prepared and could just type all the things down I had worked out in detail before I started. Some of it was literally already existing and only had to be rewritten, which meant I could salvage it partially. It sped up the process a lot.
Now I’m at a point where things become tricky. The third act of this novel has a lot of things going on, and it’s important to get this right, else editing will become a nightmare. Work is also busy right now, so I’ll slow down to one scene a day. NaNo will last all through November, and I intend to use the project page until it’s over. I want to see how far I get, and how high I can drive the numbers, just for fun, and to unlock all those pretty badges.
Now for the announcement in the title of this entry.
I plan to unpublish Pendulum soon-ish, to then do a rework. I’ll then republish it here, chapter by chapter, in a weekly series format (schedule details later). When I’m done, I’ll bundle it and re-release it as second edition. I also have something else planned for the story, but I won’t talk about that yet. One thing after the other: Finish Synthesis, release it, unpublish Pendulum, rework it while planning the next novel.
Anyway, this is where I’m at, and I’m happy with my progress so far. I’m back on track after a long and lazy summer.
